Résumé : Internet n’est pas seulement un nouveau canal de distribution pour l’industrie financière car il favorise l’apparition de nouveaux modèles d’affaires inhérents aux technologies utilisées sur ce réseau (electronic business models) comme les banques par Internet. En dépit de leur fort potentiel de développement, on constate que globalement la percée de ce type de banque reste faible et leurs résultats financiers modestes. L’objectif de cet article est donc d’analyser le modèle d’affaires (business model) des banques par Internet pour déterminer si il est plus performant que celui des banques traditionnelles de réseau.
